What Greens were supposed to be in the first place. Readily available perfect weapons you didnt need to pay an arm and a leg for.
Glad one of them finally is that.

Agreed.
Some people still don't understand the purpose of greens.

Not that I really care or anything since I use collector's items...
Remember when the patch for Kephet replacing Griffons first came out and people kept saying how nothing has changed and that people would only need a team to farm instead of brainless solo?
I pretty much knew it would become this way: The price for the staff plummet to the point where its pointless to farm with a team anyways . I guess the honest farmers DID get owned.

Heck, it made me feel so good as it is my first green drop. In fact, I just got it today! Of course, I had to kill Kepkhet three times before getting it. I just use that area as a farming spot and testing my MM build, it was a nice side effect. Will go good on my monk.
The fact that there is a spot where a newbie can get a green is awesome in my book. Granted, it would've been nice to turn around and sell that green for a good chunk of change, guess I missed out on the hype. Eh, I don't care, it's still worth it. Killing mass amounts of scarabs is fun to me.

It isn't just overfarming simply. SF is overfarmed as well as UW2. It is that it is easy to farm. One drop, close location, not terribly difficult mobs....cake walk. Cake walk means that everyone and their mother can get one so price is low.

Meanwhile, I was waiting for prices to drop, cause in all the runs I did killing the queen, none ever dropped for me.

How is this even remotely surprising? People unable to do anythng but farm the same place with cookie cutter builds overfarm the shit out these areas. Prices drop as a result.

I still remember how excited I was when I had a hp+30 hammer grip to sell. I think it's so much better for the game now, that you can get perfect items for cheap. It evens out the playing field a lot more.

Aye, my sentiments exactly. And with all the people (though there are never enough!) people giving new players things in Ascalon city, I'd say the game has a fairly good in-game support squad in the form of experienced players.
Please note, I never did nor do have a Kephket's Refuge, so it's not that I was upset over price. Just thought it was funny how the price has dropped so drastically. People usually try to keep some of the "aristocracy" of the green color by selling it for above it's (accepted) value.

This leads to ridiculously overfarmed queens, and so now the staff is being sold for anywhere from 7k to 5k to anything the seller can get. This is terrible, because I had actually intended to start farming queen once I got sick of S.F. and I should've forseen the price drop, but didn't. Kephket's Refuge has become Kephket's Refuse.
Your thoughts on the overfarming?

Here's a thing to remember that you can apply to everything that comes out:
If it is easily farmable/obtainable prices will drop. That's it. You can't get mad at people because you can't make a killing off of it anymore.
To properly capitalize on something like this, you have to be willing to farm hard right when something is new and demand is high and people are too lazy to go get it themselves. Keep an eye on the trending and notice when it is no longer going to be worth your time. Then move on.
Look at what happened in Tombs when it was new. Everything was selling very high. Then people started to learn how to negotiate it in a relatively consistant manner and began farming. Within mere days prices started to plunge. Same with the shadow swords in FoW recently. Overfarming is not new, it's basic rules of supply and demand.

LOL not just the queen.
We are doing SF runs (to finish the quests) and no greens what so ever so far.
Talk about overfarming.
I find it a hassle to sell greens. You see all these people spending time doing the run or getting in a group.
Just a big waste of time.
When the queen was introduced, I went there with 4 friends, got one for each of us (did several runs) and never been back.

I sold one last night for 10k in War Camp. I can't see it going too much lower, considering the Yakslapper seems to hang around the same place and it's also been farmed all to hell.
Myself, I've gotten three of them. Two on the first night right after the update, and one later when I was bored and just felt like burning things with my ele. One I use on my monk, one I sold to a friend who didn't get one on those first runs (was offered 10k, figured what the heck), and I sold the other last night as mentioned. All in all, I'm content with how things have gone.

Naw. He got the point. And they've made it harder twice now, I think. I got mine the first day, just a few hours before the first AI update that keeps the queen closer to her brood. After piddling with it for a while, I dropped back to my Wroth's Icon/Rod set. Except for the skin, its nothing special.
Now, Bleeched Shells are selling for 1k each...*shakes head* Thats sad.

Good thanks to market forces... demand and supply! I think it is good that prices are going down. It makes items more accessible to players as I think everyone should be entitled to experience all items of the game. And, I don't think GW was meant to be a farm to get money game.

This is a good think, it's a kick but PvE Protection Staff and green items are designed to be easier to get then hunting for golds.
Once C2 comes out, think of green's (assuming they don't show up as the "same" over there) will be going up as less people in C1. Unless, they have same stat green's w/ different names.
